Camping...

We had fun this past weekend camping in Heber. We brought along the Rhino.

After riding around, this is what you looked like. I thought Kyler looked pretty cute with winded hair and huge goggles. Notice there are no pic's of me...for a very, very good reason.

Kevin and Uncle Eric riding Grandpa's quad...

Zach and Grandpa...

We brought along my two nephews. They found what they called "an awesome fort".

Speaking of nephews. I have to share a conversation I had with my youngest nephew, Alex. He is the one in the yellow shirt.

Alex: "AAAunt Brandee, guess what?"

Me: "What Alex"

Alex: "I got shot"

Me: "What, who shot you?"

Alex: "The doctor and because I didn't cry I got candy and a sticker"

Me: "Oh, well that's good" (laughing hysterically)

One kid home sick from school...

Can you tell which one?

I know what your going to ask.

Is that dog smiling?

No, she has an overbite. Shucks!

I wish she was smiling.

First Day of School...

Sadly my fourth grader did not want to stand with me and wait for school to start. I guess he wanted to talk to the cute girl next to him.

What are they talking about?

Luckily my first grader wanted to hang out with me...proudly.

Skippity Do Da...

Skippity Do Da, skippity yea! My kids are going back to school TODAY!

They're backpacks are packed with supplies galore. They're faces are scrunched with disgust some more.

While visions of homework danced in their heads, mom stood at the door waving goodbye with a huge smile on her head!

Brandee :-)

Lazy Summer Fun...

5 minutes for mom is having a summer fun photo contest. I thought I would enter my favorite summer photo. With the heat around 115 degrees outside, this is the best place to be watching movies! Hop on over and check out more summer fun photos!

Kevin, he's a busy boy...

This summer has been non stop for the Kev myster. He started with summer school. (Yes, I'm a mean mean mommy) He took cooking, spanish, writing and mystery science. (Yep, I'm sure mean)

Then he had his first boy scout camp. Although the temp
was in the triple digits, we somehow survived and had fun.

Here he is looking for gold.

He go
t to fire BB guns.

Can't tell in the picture but he got a bullseye.

Archery was his favorite activity.

They also played soccer, tug of war, swimming and tons of water balloon fights. The best part was bonding with fellow cub scouts.

Then Kevin did a week of Wrestling Camp. He won 2 out of 3 games. We were so excited!

He also got to go to the Ringling Bros & Barnum Baily circus for the first time.

Then we celebrated his 9th birthday. He invited 5 of his closest buddies to go see Hancock. (they learned a few bad words) And then back to the house for the pool, air hockey and video games.

As you can see, he had a blast. Happy Birthday Kev Man!

And then (see I told you he is a busy boy) he went to his first scout meeting as a BEAR. O'boy it was fun.

They don't make the meetings like they used to.

Summer Mishaps...

Zachary was swimming in his birthday suit and decided to sit down on a penny that had been in the 110 degree sun all day. Well, he has a nice little tattoo of Abe Lincoln on his rear now. Maybe next time he'll take some time to put on a swimming suit.

Also Kevin's been tagged.

By this:

He didn't feel the sting because he panicked an
d went into a tizzy. We just followed protocol and called poison control. We were told to apply a cold cloth on the area and give him Motrin for the pain. He was over it in about 30 minutes.

Although I've lived in Arizona most of my life I have never seen a scorpion until we moved into our new house. Once we moved in we found 11 around the house. After sealing the house and spraying chemical warfare we thought we had taken care of them. Bataboom, batabang! We found out th
is afternoon that we DIDN'T get rid of them. Well, now that my child has been stung, this is WAR. We have increased our arsenal and adopted this:

Cats are immune to scorpions and can smell them miles away. Everyone says to get rid of scorpions get a cat or a chicken. We're allergic to chickens so we went with a cat. ;-)

We haven't decided on a name for her although The Terminator sounds fitting. We wanted to know her a little better before we n
amed her. So far we have tried Precious, Gorgeous, Kitty, Beatle Juice and Frank but none of those seem to work. We adopted her from Petsmart with the name Wannahey. Not sure what that means but better change it to be safe.

I'm sure you're wondering how the dogs are liking the new family member.

So far Rusty is AFRAID of her, Lucy wants to PLAY with her and Cass wants to EAT her. We'll keep you updated on that crisis.

Sweet 16...

Kyler had her 16th birthday last weekend. It's hard to believe she is already 16. Where does the time go?

People keep asking if it had a sweet 16, meaning she hadn't been kissed. Well I believe it should be the other way around. It's much sweeter to be kissed.
